An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later released.

Police arrested a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people hurt by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which police said was isolated and not considered terrorism - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
